What is laminated glass, how to make laminated glass, glass lamination machine
What is laminated glass?
Laminated glass, also known as laminated safety glass, is a kind of glass with one or more layers of organic raw material intermediate films sandwiched between two pieces of glass. After special high-temperature pre-pressure and high-temperature processing, the glass and the intermediate film are The membrane retains some of the composite glass. The glass and interlayers are available in a variety of colors and thicknesses which provide the desired appearance and performance to meet the relevant building code standards and customer requirements. Laminated glass products make float glass suitable for today’s demanding architectural applications such as: noise reduction, hurricane impact-resistance, blast mitigation, forced entry, protection from broken glass – or a combination of these.
How to make laminated glass, Laminated safety glass manufacturing process:
- Cleaning: First, clean the glass thoroughly to make sure it is free of any dirt and stains.
- Drying: Cleaned glass needs to be dried to remove possible moisture.
- Film pasting: Located between glass layers or multi-layer organic polymer interlayer films, these films are usually made of materials such as polyvinyl butyral (PVB).
- Pre-pressing: Put the glass with the interlayer film into the pre-pressing machine and perform pre-pressing treatment to initially deepen the relationship between the interlayer film and the glass.
- High-temperature and high-pressure treatment: Put the pre-pressed glass into an autoclave and perform high-temperature and high-pressure treatment. In this process, the control of temperature and pressure is very critical to ensure that the glass and the interlayer film can be permanently separated.
- Cooling: After high temperature and high pressure treatment, the glass needs to be cooled to prevent stress problems caused by excessive temperature drop.
In addition to the excellent sound insulation effect of laminated glass, even if the glass breaks, the fragments will be stuck to the film and will not scatter and hurt people. The surface of the broken glass remains clean and smooth. This effectively prevents debris injuries and penetrating falling incidents and ensures personal safety.
The production process of laminated glass requires precise process control and strict quality inspection to ensure product quality and safety.
